A Key lime pie is not a lemon pie, not a lemon meringue pie, and not a Pavlova dessert. It is the official Florida state pie designated in 2006.
Did you know that in 1965 there was a Florida state representative who tried to pass a legislation calling for a $100 fine to be levied against anyone advertising Key lime pie not made with key limes? Of course, the bill failed 
There’s this coffee shop in Key West where we got addicted to the best Key lime pie ever! So much so that we went back next day for more pies.
Recently, we visited Key Largo and Islamorada, where we tasted 4 different kinds of Key lime pie to decide which one was the best. The discussion was hard, and the decision impossible. Each place at the Florida Keys has their own signature recipe and all of them are so delicious!
