If you like Pina Colada… so goes the song from the Tom Cruise movie, Cocktail.
This summer heat just makes me want to go back to La Romana in the Dominican Republic and stay cool by the beach front sipping on a Pina Colada.
This tropical cocktail has a few different versions of its history but regardless of how it started I love how the refreshing taste of it brings me back to the islands for a getaway. Besides that it is easy to make too, just blend (or shake) rum, coconut milk and pineapple juice with ice and voila! You have the perfect summer cocktail.
Also, interesting to try would be a variation of it with mango juice (or whatever tropical fruit) added in. Cheers!
